HI, I'M CHRIS SEGREST
I’ve always been captivated by the beauty of live oak trees in the Texas Hill Country. The bigger the better. My fondness for these trees grew as a kid going tubing with my family in the Texas Hill Country and seeing massive live oak trees with their intricate and tangled root system reaching into the cold Guadalupe river.
Frankly, I think people are like trees. Some thrive, but sadly, most do little more than survive. I’d love to help you achieve your most important life goals and flourish like those beautiful and stately pillars of strength we see all over Austin. Grow to reach new heights you never thought possible all while strengthening the roots of your deepest values.
I didn’t begin my career in life coaching. Upon graduating from Texas A&M in 1993, I married my college sweetheart (Lady Margaret) and worked as a middle-school teacher and tennis coach in Bryan, Texas. After realizing I didn’t want to teach adolescent wild things for the next 40 years of my life, I then attended Baylor School of Law and, upon graduation, joined a law firm in Bryan-College Station. The practice of law was very valuable in my development, but had not yet found my best fit professionally.
In 1999, I left the practice of law to work for the nonprofit sector in which I specialized in life-mentoring, pre-marriage counseling, and leadership development for college students attending The University of Texas at Austin. However, something still seemed missing when it came to helping young men and women succeed in life. These students performed well in college, but upon graduation, far too many floundered. I became eager to see people in their 20s flourish and take ownership of their lives. I now specialize in helping young professionals in their 20s and 30s attain their important life goals through the amazing profession of Life Coaching.
My Credentials
I was trained by Creative Results Management based out of Seattle, Washington and am credentialed as an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with the International Coach Federation (ICF), which is recognized around the world as the gold-standard for the coaching profession.
